1. Find feeding position of decoy by repositioning holding stake towards rear of decoy.
2. Once the desired position of holding stake is located, put 2 or 3 pieces of duct tape over the new position on decoy and punch small hole (smaller than the diameter of the holding stake) through the decoy. Place a large rubber band on holding stake to act as a stop. This will hold the decoy in the feeding position.
3. Take a piece of 2" Foam Rubber - Size 5"
x 5". Cut hole in center slightly smaller than Decoy Heart™ to grip the Heart. Place Heart in foam block with switch
up. Place in breast of decoy and turn to on position. Foam block may
need trimming for various decoys.

Keep in mind that longer battery life is attained by keeping the switch
"VERTICAL" in all applications. In cold weather, the "Heart" needs to be
warm when started for maximum performance. The rubber band
(gasket) is Not necessary for any decoy application. Discard it or
use it as a stop on Turkey Stakes. A squirt of oil on the switch
(from the inside) will help performance. Apply every 10 to 15 hours
of usage. A drop on the threads occasionally will make the opening and
closing process easier. Apply as needed to threads. (Breakfree CLP
is preferred lubricant.) Use of the "Heart" for decoys is limited only by
your imagination. If you come up with an unusual application, let us
know. We will be most appreciative.
